Pearl Solutions (completed 2018)
The landing page's product cards are particularly cool with multiple means to navigate.
David Parker Consulting (Completed late-2017)
This was a complete redesign of the the client's site, which hadn't been redesigned in nearly a decade. It features a clean, corporate, and modern design that is fully responsive for mobile devices. I exclusively used flexbox for layout on this one. I also reworked much of the existing content to fit the new site's design. Finally, I delivered a custom theme in Wordpress so the client could easily alter content.
RevealSoft (completed mid-2017)
I designed this website from scratch using some minimal content that was provided by the client. The challenge here was creating a compelling, professional, and modern website for a highly technical product. I put a spin a common corporate design using some diagonal line components in the hero image.
Rebees (started 2016 -- ongoing)
I loved working with this client! This was my first foray into featuring video on the landing page. It was also a hyperminimalistic black/white design to focus heavily on the content of the site.
Live & Leave Well (Completed mid-2017)
I designed and developed this website from scratch. The client had some specific design ideas, which I refined a bit to produce a clean, corporate design. I integrated a custom blog into this site as well. Finally, I worked to integrate Mailchimp's API to run email marketing through the site.
EMZE (completed mid-2016)
I designed this website from scratch using a monochromatic blue color scheme. I used some pretty modern (for the time at least!) layouts using CSS Flexbox. It was my first foray into flexbox, and I think I'll use it for layout from here on out.
Scope.la is a great app that allows businesses to integrate their user-generated social media content into their existing websites. I redesigned their website, created banner graphics, rewrote marketing content, and created technical support documentation.
"Chris was a wonderful person to work with. He is rare in that he has both the ability to create great design and genuine technical writing talents. Many times it can be difficult communicating the intricacies of your app with someone that only understands design, because you aren't selling designs, you need to speak to the needs of your customer, which means translating the value of your software with persuasive content and technical writing. That is exactly what Chris was able to deliver. I will continue to hire Chris for future projects because he made to easy to work with him.
During the entire length of the project...I don't think an hour passed after any of my email communications before I was getting a response."
University of North Texas, Department of Technical Communication
The Department of Technical Communication runs semester-long client projects in which upper-level undergraduate courses partner with businesses on a client project. To manage these projects, the department needed a centralized repository where clients, instructors, and administrators could propose potential projects and the projects could be matched to potential undergraduate courses.
In response to this need, I built a custom system using HTML/CSS and Ruby on Rails to meet the department's needs. The system has full user administration capabilities as well as a variety of user access levels. This was by far my most challenging project, but also very rewarding. I created this website as a home base for my academic work as a professor. The site features a three color theme that is repeated throughout the pages of the site. It's meant to stand out and be unique in a world of boring, academic profile websites.
The most vital page to the site is the CV. Therefore, I created the CV in a readable web format so users can access the content across a variety of devices.
